07/10/2000
House Roll Call No. 373
106th Congress, 2nd Session

Failed: 182-187 (see complete tally)
During consideration of the Fiscal Year 2001
Agriculture Appropriations bill (H.R. 4461), pro-life Rep. Tom Coburn (R-Ok.) offered an NRLC-backed an amendment to prohibit the FDA from approving "any drug intended solely
for the chemical inducement of abortion" (such as the RU-486 abortion pill). Sixty-five House members were absent for this vote, because it occurred on a Monday evening on which bad weather delayed the flights of many House members, causing the amendment to fail, 182-187, roll call 373, July 10, 2000.
