Action Alert
Stand With Refugees
As World Refugee Day Approaches, Please Stand With Refugees
JFI and other Catholic partners:

Thank you to everyone for participating in the Justice for Immigrants campaign's advocacy effort during the week leading up to World Refugee Day (WRD) 2017 as we take a supportive stand with refugees. We will be working in a partnership with Refugee Council USA (RCUSA) and other interfaith partners.

For the week leading up to World Refugee Day 2017, June 12-16th we ask that you send the following message to the members of leadership of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives:

In honor of this year's World Refugee Day, which takes place on June 20th, I am calling in support of welcoming refugees to the United States. I urge you, as members of the leadership team in your legislative chamber, to welcome more refugees to the U.S. next year and provide adequate funding levels to assist refugees worldwide.

A link to sending this message is available on the Justice for Immigrants website.
For diocesan offices, parishes, Catholic Charities organizations, social service resettlement agencies, and Catholic communities, please do the following:
  1. Share the campaign information with your offices and advocacy and outreach networks. Highlight the advocacy request in office/departmental and community online newsletters, email communications, and on social media feeds
  2. Spread the word via email and social media NOW– work with your communications team to schedule social media posts ahead of time
  3. Remind people to send the action alert during the week leading up to World Refugee Day 2017.

JFI TOOLKIT:
Please download and share JFI's WRD 2017 toolkit, which includes posters, social media graphics, etc., with other supporters of refugees.
