H.R. 596 was a bill to repeal the 2010 "Obamacare" health care law. The measure also included a number of instructions to certain House committees regarding provisions to be included in developing a proposed replacement health care law. National Right to Life supported H.R. 596, for reasons summarized in a letter
sent to U.S. House members. On February 3, 2015, the House passed the bill, 239-186. All of those voting in favor of the bill were Republicans. Voting in opposition were 183 Democrats and three Republicans (Dold of IL, Katko of NY, and Poliquin of Maine). The bill was then sent to the U.S. Senate. House roll call no. 58, February 3, 2015.
