Sanchez Amendment
05/22/2003
House Roll Call No. 215
108th Congress, 1st Session

Failed: 201-227 (see complete tally)
Current law prohibits the use of U.S. military medical facilities for abortion, except to save the life of the mother, or in cases of rape or incest. During consideration of the Fiscal Year 2004 Defense Authorization bill (H.R. 1588), Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-Ca.) offered an amendment to repeal this ban as applied to overseas facilities. NRLC opposed the amendment, and it failed, 201 to 227, Roll Call No. 215, May 22, 2003.
