As the end of session is near, there are two pressing issues important to me and the members of the IEA. We encourage you to pass a K-12 education budget to ensure our schools open on time and HB 109 to provide a lifeline to higher education. In addition, please oppose the three pension cutting bills in the House of Representatives; HB 4027, HB 4045 and SB 16. All of these bills cut constitutionally protected pension benefits and include a pension cost shift which would divert local property tax dollars from the classroom.
