Now that the U.S. House of Representatives has joined the U.S. Senate in introducing its version of the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act, NACDS RxIMPACT is calling on you to join in our biggest letter-writing campaign ever to build support for provider status in both the House and Senate!
Late last week the House of Representatives introduced H.R. 592 with more than 100 co-sponsors. Two weeks ago, the Senate introduced its companion bill, S. 109, with the bipartisan original co-sponsorship of more than one quarter of the Senate. Today, NACDS RxIMPACT is calling on you to take part in our two-step call to action to write both the House and the Senate to build support – and momentum – for this critical legislation!
This legislation would allow Medicare Part B to utilize pharmacists to their full capability by providing services to the underserved. The lack of pharmacist recognition as a provider limits the ability of pharmacists to provide services that they are qualified to perform and presents a barrier to care – this bill remedies this situation. It would also reduce overall healthcare costs and increased access to healthcare services and improved healthcare quality outcomes for a very vulnerable population. Take action TODAY!
