Dear Wine Lovers of Kentucky,
Kentucky is one of only six states that effectively bans winery-to-consumer direct shipments.
The state’s failed law prevents common carriers like FedEx and UPS from direct shipping wine, and bans all shipments from wineries producing more than 50,000 gallons. Similar “capacity cap” laws have been overturned in states like Arizona and Massachusetts.
We believe that consumers like you should determine which wines you can enjoy and how you purchase them. Model wine direct shipping legislation is working successfully in the majority of states – which represent nearly 94% of the population -- and provides additional state tax revenues, satisfies consumer demand, and meets regulatory requirements in a dynamic marketplace.
Contact your state legislators today and urge them to support positive legislation that serves consumers, state governments and regulatory agencies.
