Attention MA ResidentsSenate Race May Determine Outcome of Obamacare
January 13, 2010

Dear Massachusetts Eagle,
While Congress is ignoring millions of Americans' cries to stop Congress' radical spending and the rush to socialize our health care system, you, the voters of Massachusetts, have the opportunity to make a difference and put the brakes on the Obama agenda by voting for Scott Brown next Tuesday, January 19th.
Your grassroots efforts and vote for Scott Brown in the special election next Tuesday, January 19th can make a real difference!
Scott Brown has declared that he will:
  • Vote against the current federal healthcare bill because it will increase taxes, harm seniors and generally decrease the quality of health care.
  • Oppose the federal cap and trade bill that will increase energy costs.
  • Oppose tax increases.
  • Oppose drivers' licenses and in-state tuition for illegals.
  • Support Second Amendment rights.
  • Support the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
  • Support laws requiring parental notification and consent for abortion.
  • Oppose partial birth abortion.
In contrast, his opponent, Martha Coakley, is supported by the radical pro-abortion PAC, EMILY'S List, and has demonstrated a liberal agenda by:
  • Supporting the current federal health care bill.
  • Endorsing Cap and Trade legislation.
  • Using her position as Massachusetts Attorney General to actively advocate to have the federal Defense of Marriage Act overturned.
  • Filing a lawsuit seeking to overturn regulations that protect healthcare providers from having to take action that violates their deeply held religious beliefs.
  • Refusing to enforce immigration laws as Massachusetts Attorney General and including illegal immigrants in her suits against employers for violating wage laws.
  • Holding a secret "fundraiser" last night in Washington, D.C. with health industry lobbyists from UnitedHealth, Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Humana, Pfizer, Merck, Eli Lilly, Novartis, and other drug and insurance companies to ensure that her potential vote in favor of Obamacare isn't free.
If you are among the 61% of Americans who oppose a government takeover of the U.S. health care industry, then you have an added incentive to help turn out the vote for Scott Brown!  The future of Obamacare hinges on the outcome of next week's Massachusetts Senate election.  Please keep in mind that if Scott Brown can prevail and win this seat, it will bring an end to the liberal Democrats' filibuster-proof majority in the U.S. Senate.  Electing Scott Brown will cost the Democrats their all-important 60th vote and will help us to defeat Obamacare once and for all!
I urge you to go to the polls on Tuesday, January 19th and vote to elect Scott Brown to the U.S. Senate.
Phyllis Schlafly
P.S. The election on Tuesday, January 19th will be very close!  Since this is a special election, many people might not be aware that it is taking place.  Please vote for Scott Brown - and also please ask ten of your friends and family members to vote for Scott Brown.  Every vote counts!
