Celiac Awareness and Health Reform
Despite rumors in the media, health reform is still alive. The House and Senate are working to finalize a measure to pass and send to the President. The needs of individuals with celiac disease, and others with chronic medical conditions are on the front burner as members seek ways to eliminate limitations for preexisting conditions.
The final bill is also likely include prevention and wellness provisions. Although the details aren't known yet, we hope that dietitian services will be covered.
We can't take this for granted. Health reform must ensure dietitian services are covered for people with celiac disease.
