Through community organizing and advocacy, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens helps address local community needs as well as work towards social justice and systemic change on a state, national, and global level. In addition, we assist parishes with identifying local issues and ways to strengthen our Brooklyn and Queens communities. Our Community Project Directors, "CPDs," seek to develop strong partnerships with parish leaders to respond to the needs of individuals and families throughout our parishes.     In the social service profession, we are all aware of the importance of measuring outcomes to truly understand the impact of our work. The Senate has recently introduced the “Evidence-Based Policymaking Commission Act of 2015 (S.991) which would support our efforts to measure what truly works in fighting poverty in America.
